Max when I said this stereo came over on the mayflower I guess I over shot my exaduration. It is not of the tube eara I just meant that it is not a modern stereo. I suppose it is from the eighties or so. Thank you all for all your sugestions I've got it figured out now what I need to do. If you all don't hear from me again that means that I hooked up the wires backwards. LOL
