Has anyone ever used the pest controllers that use ultrasound or at least a
high frequency that the pests do not like? I had some from finger hut a wile
back and I see ace hardware and walmart have them too. I have not had any
problem with any pests so far knock on wood.

I have used the sticky pads in the past. The ones which the professionals
leave are much, much more effective. The ones you can purchase, for the most
part, are not as sticky and just do not do the job. What is supposed to
happen is that the critter will try to chew the pad off and then get its
muzzle stuck and suffocate very quickly.
For larger mice these pads just do not do the trick as they seem to be able
to pull themselves off and leave you some nice mouse hair...
I really like the idea oa a Rat Zapper. Also, on e of the most effective
methods I have seen are the live traps. They are aluminum boxes the mice
crawl into and can not get out.
Without a source of water the mouse will die from dehydration in a matter of
hours. The dehydrated mouse also will not stink.

My personal way of dealing with the sticky pads is to have my husband and
son check them and then take the little guys outside to die. However, if I
had something on one and had to deal with it myself, I would use the tip
given to me by a friend of mine. She throws a towel over them and then
bangs them with a hammer. The whole thing then goes into the trash. Sounds
awful, but it is actually a much more humane way to go than a traditional
mouse or rat trap or the sticky pads.

Be careful when you buy the sticky pads. They sell these ones that are
supposed to be for bugs and rodents. They are just little flat pads, and
they work great for catching ants, but they have to be folded in some box
thing to catch mice. Even when folded they do not seem to work very well.
Make sure you get the ones for the size critter you want to catch. We get
the Tom Cat brand.

I have been learning a lot about them as we have had a lot of trouble with
mice where we live now. I think it is the ongoing construction and
development in the area.

Does anyone besides me find that you can just smell the little horrible
things after you know what the smell is? I can remember smelling that smell
before in people houses and not knowing what it was.
