I have heard of shock fences which keep your dog in an area by shocking him through a special collar when he gets too close to a buried fence.
I have also heard of a bark collar which sprays a citrus sent whenever the dog barks. We have two mini dachshunds in our neighborhood and often you can hear them but can't see them through the haze of citrus spray. apparently it doesn't work quite as well as advertised. -- Blue skies.
