victor, thanks for the very complete update. I'll have to dig into a couple we have that've gotten flakey too. I agree about cleaning and alcohol, but don't believe the conductive paint idea, not that there isn't such material, there is, but that you need it. The buttons contain carbon pills, and they're conductive clear through. Once cleaned they should work fine.
