Lee, back in the '70s and early '80s I ran an equipment leasing and rental
business. Back then, if you had basic aptitude, and didn't mind getting your
hands dirty, you could still say, repair your own car without thousands of
dollars of diagnostic equipment.

Anyway, we actually thought about doing something very similar to what you're
talking about here. What killed the plan though was the astronomical cost of
the insurance we would have had to carry.

I've lived in highrises for a lot of years, and I always wished they would at
least have space so you could build stuff, and now I'm really enjoying having a
basement again.

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] ideal tool and equipment shop

as somebody said years ago" I have a dream". picture this in your
community. something similar to years ago it was advertized to take
your car or truck to Joe blows place on a weekend and rent a bay. well I
thought back to when" I was a kid" and was in school shop and at that
time I had some limited vision. However like most school shops it was
well stocked with all sorts of tools and equipment. Imagine, if you
would, someplace where you could go and say rent the use of a
professional woood lathe and all the tools that go with it. same for any
of the power equipment we discuss on this list.. Table saws , power
tools the average home does not have a complete stock of. So you tell
your family members or Friends you are off to Joe blows shop and come
home maybe with a fnished project or at least something you started and
done with all the correct tools. Now take that one step further and
inside that rented shop is one or two professionals who might assist set
up your wood lathe project or in my case I really liked designing and
making things on the metal lathe. so if someone wins the powerball or
big lottery, there you go, invest in a rental shop which would bring a
great deal of satisfaction to many. This commercial was not approved by
the Democratic or Republican party , only be the three of us. Me, myself
and I. Lee
