the cheap filters the arrow goes up, cause most all houses has heat units that the air blows up. In my mobile home, my heat unit, the arrow on the filter goes down. No, I have no way knowing which way is up or down unless someone tells me. I do know that the more high price filters has a cardboard or plastic on them.
