If you are recording video you'll need a DVD recorder, and a card that will have the video inputs. For just audio, off of a VCR, I believe you are going to want to "Y" the two audio (left and right) down to the stereo 1/8 inch jack that many mid fi audio cards use as an in. Unless you don't care about shoving it all into mono, but that's not what is implied by your subject line and is less wonderful soundwise. Beyond that, I'm sure someone can take you farther.
