Ken you wrote I'm sure I don't have to tell you what happens if you get it positioned wrong.
Mostly what happens is "nothing" and that is frustrating. But were you talking about the ausom fire works under the hood? Ya thats a lot of fun. The truck is still running good but now the water pump is leaking and I have to replace that this week. I did not realize before how many places there are for water to get out of the cooling system. First thing most people think of is of cource the radiator. How many ways can you loos coolent. let me count the ways 1. radiator 2. uper hose, both ends 3 lower hose, both ends. water pump 4. intake manifold gasket, 2 on a v6 or a v8 5 heater core, inlet and outlet or the core itself springing a leak heater core hose where it hooks to the radiator. quick connect tube at the back of the intake. bad head gasketts. I am sure I missed some thing. With out listing all the nitty gritty I can count at least 18 places where coolent might escape. So far I have taken care of 5 of those places and this week I will replace the water pump which will take care of one more leak and two other potential leaks.those would bethe gaskett where it bolts on to the block. and where the lower hose hooks up. Word to the wise. Do!!!! Not!!!! ignore your cooling system. The previous owner apparently ignored this one and now I am having to chase down all the leaks but believe me when I am done this thing wont leak a drop any where.
