Hi Tom! Here is a couple of things to check. Is there separate left and right climate controls? Some of the top end trucks have that now for comfort zones. Also, is there a slide switch in the area around the vent itself to allow fresh air into the cab. This may be open to allow fresh air without turning the fan on in the cab. Barring any control settings wrong, there may have been a duct off on that side but I doubte it as you said that it was cold air not no air blowing out of that vent.
