I would try a silicone spray or wd40. wd40 is a water displacement product as well as a very light lubricant. I never asked why but my late father-in-law use to tape some plastic on his screen door and I knew that it hung a little over the bottom track. I now suspect it was for a similar problem. I never questioned but assumed it was for insulation but now think otherwise. My wife has no idea why he did that. ----- Original Message ----- From: frank cunningham To: blind handyman Sent: Tuesday, January 16, 2007 2:21 PM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] External sliding door Howdy All,with the temps here droping into the teens at night I have noticed my back sliding door starting to freeze close. Usually with a good tug it will open. Is there something I can apply to prevent this? Also when it decides to snow here it gets stuck in the track. After a period of time it builds up in the lower corner and prevents the door from closing until I dig it out with a screwdriver. Any suggestions appreciated.
