As I said spray the latch mechanism with some lubricant and also make sure you spray the cable where it comes out of the casing to try to get the lubricant down inside the cable. Yu might want to do this several times over the next few days . once you have sprayed it good,gently work the handle back and forth several times to make sure the spray lubricant gets worked in good to the entire mechanism.
