A couple of weeks ago I toured the electronics stores in BG and asked about
FM transmitters. They didn't seem to know what I was talking about.
Explaining that I wanted a wireless way to send music from my computer to my
stereo in another room didn't seem to make a dent either. What planet are
these people from? That is why I red through this entire email with great
interest. It contains a great deal of information except for one thing.
What's the URL of the site where you buy these things?

Regards.

Max. K 4 O D S.

Discover the freedom of sending a wireless broadcast
of any audio (music audio, streaming audio, MP3 audio etc.) to any FM radio
anywhere in your home, car or office!

The FM Transmitter uses FM radio waves to send sound
from any device you choose (as long as it has a headphone jack) to any
nearby radio or stereo system. The only wire you have to connect is from the
FM Transmitter to your gear. Simple as that. And since the Transmitter works
with any device that has a headphone jack, you can use it with CD players,
satellite radios, and any other audio device with a headphone jack. One of
the unsung qualities of C. Crane’s Digital FM Transmitter is its extreme
versatility. While most people use it to send music from their computers or
MP3 players to a nearby radio, some customers have told us how they use it
with their guitars, portable DVD players (a lot of fun in cars), and even
other radios. One customer uses the FM Transmitter as a brilliant solution
to the problem of turning the TV’s volume up too high. She simply plugs the
FM Transmitter into her TV, and sends the audio to a small radio she keeps
by her ear. AC adapter included, or use 2 optional “AA” batteries. Our FM
Transmitter is one of the few transmitting devices available that is FCC
approved. Choose any FM frequency between 88.3 MHz and 107.7 MHz. Available
in black, white and silver. Portable, fits in the palm of your hand. Weight:
5.8 oz. Size 3" W x 3.5" H x 1" D. (Patent # US D483,024S)

How far will the FM Transmitter transmit?
The range will vary depending on several factors.

a.. The number of FM Stations in your area
b.. The quality of your FM receiver and
antenna
c.. The number of walls the signal needs to
travel through
d.. The types of walls (wood, metal, sheet
rock, stucco, etc.)
Most of our customers achieve 40 - 70 feet
depending on their situation. If you are are having range problems, feel
free to contact our tech department at (707)725-9000 or send E-mail
inquiries to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Generally the best performance is achieved
with the included AC adapter.

Does the FM Transmitter broadcast in FM
stereo? Yes, if you are transmitting from a stereo device.

What is the Broadcast Power for the FM
Transmitter? 250 Micro volts at 3 meters. It is the maximum allowed by the
FCC.

Is the FM Transmitter legal? Yes. It is
certified by the FCC.

What is the Audio Response of the FM
Transmitter? 40 Hz to 16,500 Hz

What is the battery life of the FMT? 120
plus hours on a fresh set of 2 AA alkaline batteries.

Can I use the FM Transmitter to transmit
directly off a microphone? Yes, but it must be a self-powered microphone
(one that uses a battery to power the mic.)

Can I use rechargeable batteries in my FM
Transmitter? Any batteries can be used but transmitting range may not be
as far because rechargeable batteries are generally lower voltage.

Does the Ccrane FM Transmitter use a Phase
Lock Loop (PLL) circuit? Yes.

What is a Phase Lock Loop (PLL) circuit?
A Phase Lock Loop is a circuit that locks onto the frequency selected and
keeps the signal from jumping to other frequencies.

Audio is distorted Try adjusting the
input level on the side of the FM Transmitter. If that doesnt help, try
adjusting the volume of your audio source.

Will not power up with cigarette lighter
step down Turn down the input level knob.

                                 No Audio
1.. Verify the power on the FM Transmitter,
your audio source and your receiver is on.
2.. Try adjusting the input level on the
side of the FM Transmitter. If that doesnt help, try adjusting the volume of
your audio source.
3.. Check your cable and make sure it is
connected to the right audio source.
4.. Check your frequency and make sure you
are tuned to the correct frequency.

If none of the above options work, try the
FM Transmitter on another device.

How do I connect my FM Transmitter to my
computer? You can connect it directly to your computers sound card by
connecting to the output or headphone jack. You need to adjust the volume on
your computer and the input level control on the FM Transmitter. You can
also connect the FM Transmitter to your computers speakers if they have a
headphone jack.

Why am I getting muffled sound or poor
fidelity from my FM Transmitter? The input level control on the side of
the FM Transmitter is probably set too high. The FM Transmitter
""overloads"" easily, and this may cause muffled, harsh, and distorted
audio. Set the input level control so that the LED on the unit just barely
glows or flashes, and then back it off just a little. If the gain is set any
higher, then the LED will flash brightly or stays on. This means the unit is
overloading. Overloading can cause poor audio quality. On the other hand if
the level is set too low, the signal will have more noise and hash, and will
also transmitting range.

How does the Automatic Power Off Timer
work? Press and hold the power button. It must be activated. It will shut
the transmitter off in 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours selectable by you.
