My old Maytag dryer comes apart at the front and I expect yours does too. The only time I had to disassemble it I found two screws under the front panel which you remove. I think it just descends unhooking from under the top but it was about 1984 or 1985 since I did that so I might have forgotten and just now I am too lazy to go up stairs to the laundry to verify that.
Feel along under the bottom edge of the front panel and see if you can find those screws. probably Philips being American but could be Robertson. .
