I'd like to know more about. These sliding
doors have gotten heavier since the double Paine glass became a standard.
I thought ours had bad rollers, but I had a repairman out here last summer
to replace the locking mechanism and I asked him why the door didn't slide
all that easy. He really didn't give me a good answer, he just brought out
a can of silicone lubricant and sprayed the tracks, which did allow it to
slide more freely. So a couple times a year, I clean the tracks real good
by vacuuming and then cleaning it with a soapy rag, and then replying the
silicone lubricant. I do know dirt and dust can and will destroy the
rollers over the years.
