Well Robert,

My main project just now is the Deluxe Router table from plans from the New
Yankee Workshop.

I started between Christmas and New Years but ran into a bit of a snag
getting Arborite for the top and fences which I would like to blame on
holding me up and it did a little but I got some a little over a week ago
and today stuck down the laminate today. I also cut the hardwood banding for
the top of the table and tomorrow I will probably cut and fit the biscuits
and glue it all up. I would like to reinforce the mitered corners but I
think even the small biscuits might be a little too big I think I would
prefer to avoid pins but I don't actually know why.

Then I will dado for a mitre slot and wait for a router plate to arrive so I
can cut out the hole for that insert.

Just now I am struggling with how to do the fence. I would like to include
some channels to receive sledges, one to hold stock vertical while sliding
it through the router, another for easy attachment of hold-down feather
boards. I also want to be able to offset the out feed fence when cutting
molding which leaves the router unsupported something like a jointer. In the
end I think the best solution is more than one fence. I am also thinking I
should probably make more than one table top for different applications.

Otherwise the cabinet is about finished ready for preparation for paint. I
think I will alter the dust port system a little and look for some easily
separating hinges for the rear of the top so I can easily tilt it up from
the front and hold it with a jack for making router adjustments and yet be
easily able to remove it and replace it with another.

Finally, I would really like to come up with a reliable and sturdy method of
pushing casters down for moving the thing about the shop then raising them
so it is really steady in use. Some of my treatment tables at the hospital
have a system using foot pedals and a cam arrangement but that is beyond my
shop to create. Maybe a pair of wheels at one end set on an angle and a pair
of handles at the other so it can be lifted to engage the wheels with the
floor. I am not a fan of locking casters, they don't generally lock all that
well.

My efforts at recording haven't been too successful. I don't have suitable
equipment and I get carried away with work forgetting to record. I have
begun a sort of diary but got well behind on that too. I do intend to work
on that though so there is a record of the sequence I used which can also be
brailled if someone wishes.
