What is Brookstone and do they have a web site? As for tire tread depth, I dont have a salution for measuring the exact depth. However if you feel between the treads every 6 inches or so you will feel a raised line that goes from the inside of the tire to the out side. Once the tread is worn down to those lines the tire is at its leagle limit. I have heard them refered to as Nader bumps because Ralph Nader was instrumental in making it mandatory for all tire manufacturers to incorporate them in to all tires. Hope this helps.
