Dear Robert:
Your idea is much quicker than the method I was about to suggest. I have
had wood to swell when soaked in water. My thought was to soak the board for a
few weeks, and when it reached the desired length, quickly fasten it in place.
Any shrinkage thereafter should bring the walls with it.

                Yours Truly,

                Clifford Wilson

Dan,
MY man
If this is base board trim you are talking about, That is an easy one. Just
go around to the oppasit side of the wall and with a sledge hammer pound the
wall in about a half inch and you should be good. GRIN

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Board stretcher.

Anybody know where I can get a board stretcher? I was cutting some trim
pieces this weekend and even though I specifically cut them long so I
could trim them to length. Somehow, seemingly impossibly, a couple of the
boards mysteriously shrunk after I cut them. I swear! I took a board
that was half an inch too long, cut an eighth off of it, and ended up with a
board half an inch too short. Don't ask me how. Hell, I was so impressed
that I couldn't even get mad.

Ah, the joys of D I Y.
