Brice I can't remember if you said you hav a maytag or a Kenmore. I have a maytag and I looked at the ajetater and I discovered that there is a small bolt on the side about 2/3 down on the side. If yours has this, there may be a chance that the bolt is sheered or missing. I doubt that it is missing or you would have found it in the laundry. Robert
