I think what you are really talking about is what is called a solar/wind
clothes dryer
They really work good out here in the country. They do take up a bit of
space but the clothes really smell the fresh air when they are done.

sounds like the drawer units that go under the washer are to utilize space
and raise it to confort level. Our oven door is about 3ft high for that
reason.
