Lee, It says right in the contract that they will wet down the house prior to pointing.
Also, several of my neighbors have used this same guy and their mortar joints look fine. Lastly, I had another guy give me a quote on the pointing work. He mentioned several times how good of a job someone had done on the house two doors down from me. Well, the guy who did that house is the one doing mine.
