Bill, I am pretty sure that my friend used a copper 3/8" pipe. I did not get
a chance to search but I believe that he found the information on the net. I
have a 3/8" glass bit that I used to make a lamp out of a beer bottle.

I have drilled holes in glass several times. There is a special drill bit
for glass that you can use. I made a dam around the area and filled with
some oil before drilling. The other way that I have seen someone drill
glass with a short piece of pipe and they cut two perpendicular slots in the

end and used that end as the drill bit. It sounded crazy to me but made a
very nice clean hole.

Hi,

I am building a bookcase headboard which will have a mirror across above the
shelf. My wife bought some sconces she wants to mount on the mirror.

Is there a good, safe, and given my skill level, easy way to drill holes in
a mirror?

Thanks,
Ralph
