You know, I looked at a house once that had an island on wheels.  It was a tiny 
kitchen and the island really added to the usable cabinet space.  I am certain 
you could buy an island, put it on wheels if you wanted, and then just cut the 
cabinet tops so that it would go right up against the walls.  This would let 
you buy premade cabinetry and that will be much cheaper than custom.
