Don, this subject line reminds me of many years ago when Debbie and I
were not married to long and had a 62 Ford pickup truck. my father in
law picked it up for $125.00. well we were coming down this way and she
handed me the steering wheel . like what am I supposed to do with a
steering wheel. sometime later we replaced the steering system as the
steering control box busted too. that happened two times. and we had
been to two different junk yards and found out thru their big book the
steering control hookup matched up with an International truck they
had. both of those were shifting on the columun . many of you will
remember those three speed. first gear was straight up and so on. well
the last time it busted . or the third time we ended up with the help
of a cousin. installing a three speed Hertz conversion kkit. all fancy
chrome . that system costs more than the truck. Oh I remember thru a
Friend we discoverd what part of the problem was that the king pins
were near froze up so after heating them to near red hot and pumping
them full of grease it almost seeme d like power steering. try to find
a grease fitting on any new car or truck. Lee
