Ed, leaving the return cover off will overload your motor and you will need
to replace it. If you don't catch it soon enough, you could end up getting a
new furnace or Ac. Depending on how long it takes for you to have the
burnout from the damage by leaving it off.
Unless you know what you are doing, I suggest you just let it alone or pay
the price for not later. ....................bob
