lee, the Satterwhite choke, is a horizonal choke that presents the beads in a very thin line. The legal length of the barrel is 16 inches, but the fix of the choke must accomodate removal of any metal. There is .38 birdshot, and I think there is larger handgun birdshot. These will not defend ones home and safety of those within, in accordance to the law, as a 12g scattergun. But within deadly range they will penitrate a leather jacket of style thickness, if not protection thickness. I will strongly advise, that one do not believe the hype that all forms of MagSafe projectiles are safe within the home. The rumor, which may be true, regarding their inability to penitrate and pass through drywall is not true for the highest and second highest version in the .45 caliber. I have sent one through, a chair leg, clothes basket, and carpet and floor before it completely disintegrated. So the claims that they were supported by the manu in court to testify that they disintegrate when coming in contact with hard wall strength objects is not true for all versions. Lead bead is now illegal due to fouling of the migratory wetlands.
