Hi all, A few weeks ago my shop vac broke. Fortunately it failed in the on position. The way that the switches are constructed there is no way that I can replace them. I purchased a $5.00 heavy duty power strip with an on/off switch. This power strip has 6 outlets and has 14g cord.By mounting this power switch on the side of my shop vac, I now have an on/off switch as opposed to plugging and unplugging the unit. I plan to shorten the vac cord to about 8 inches. I currently have it coiled in it's storage location. The next visit to the hardware store I will purchase the heavy duty plug.
