this subject line of" how tires are made" brings to mind when our family bought some Nylon winters from Monkey Wards in the 50's. those tires had a nice deep tread but who would have thought those tires were not meant for extreme cold weather. every morning they were flat , yes flat but only on the bottom. the car made an odd " flap flap" going down the road until that Nylon warmed up. In the early 70's we used to run " cold capped" tires from a local dealer and he got those out of someplace in Conn. Has any other person on the list had good luck with running recaps which were considered to be cold caps ? Lee
