I had to laugh when I heard that story because I knew about that gas cap cover on that particular car. I was not sure what year it was but I knew Chevy did that in the mid 50's. My wife's cousin use to have that car and he tells that story once in a while. Also did you know that car was siphen proof? The filler tube had several 90 degree bends, making it virtually imposible for a would be theefe to siphen gas out of your tank.
