Hello guys, I've gotten allot of stuff done the last two weeks. The gas tank was finally removed. I snapped one of the bolts connected to the strap, but besides that, it was a success. I took out the remaining clips for the electrical sensors for the gas tank, fuel and brake lines. I was finally down to the main rails, front and back cross members, shock mounts, and one brace. I started to sand down everything with 40 grit sand discs. When i got the whole thing sanded down, i went back over everything with 80 grit sand paper. I've got about 90 percent of that done now. I've also sanded down the custom trailer hitch, the 2 brackets that hold the u bolts in place on top of the springs, both shocks, drive shaft, and one of the traction bar mounts. 3 out of the four bolts seized in the mounts for the traction bars. I plan on having someone melt the bushings out of them. The axle is going to be sanded down next week, i hope. I'm trying to decide if i want to spend the money to update the 3 73's up to 4 11's or even 4 56's. It certainly is the time to do it, seeings that the axle is out right now. but the money tree is running low. Frown. 2 questions. 1st, I have the z 71 off road package. there is a hard plastic, or some kind of rubber that is covering the bottom of the gas tank. What kind of paint should i use to paint this? 2nd, I've never painted blind before. and I'm not looking forward to it. Can some one please share some helpful tips on how not to make a mess. I would sure appreciate it. Take care Yawl. Roger C Bachelder 3rd [EMAIL PROTECTED]
