Well my door now closes and latches almost perfectly.
It has a little bit of a catch when you close it but the house is probably
over 60 years old and I suspect the door is just as old as the house so I
won't complain.
I had to file the top of the door which took probably an hour and then I had
to take off the striker plate from the door jam and do a little chissleing.
I had to make a second adjustment because the first time I moved the striker
plate I did not go far enough. Since the wood is old even though it is in
good condition I put some screws in the plate that had to bee at least 2
inches long.
Over kill you say? Well that plate is not going any where real soon.
