Mike,
I don't think we have any OTASCO stores here anymore. (sad face)
They sure ruined my fun when they started packaging everything in those
blamed plastic coffins. (large frownie face)
That is why I really like Harbor Freight. Everything is just bare and you
can look to your heart's content.
I have not dared to visit an Ace Hardware store and we do have a good one
here in Tulsa.
Cy, the Ancient okie...

Well now Cy, when my wife and I got married a couple years back, I think we
competed to see who could spend the most at Lowes and Ace hardware. We would
go looking for a tool or a bush and walk out with van or truck loads of
things. I always wanted a tractor, got me a lawn tractor and since I gave
the clerk such a hard time, the wife made me drive it around the yard.
Yep, just don't pay for me to visit a regular hardware store. I am safe
enough in those places where everything is in those silly plastic packages.
My first wife and my sister used to leave me in the hardware aisle at
K-mart, while they shopped for clothes. They figured I would be happy, then
along came those packaging devices, so they started leaving me at home. Now
with my current wife, she can help me figure out what's in them and so far,
she hasn't figured out that she is enabling my habit, lol!
See you at OTASCO!

Mike,
My friend, you are truly one of my Soul mates. (LOL)
As for visiting a tool place such as Harbor Freight or the like, I rarely
come out with what I went in for.
We have an awful store here in Oklahoma, Big Lots. It is the typical end
lots and close out item store but they sure do have some great buys on
various gizmos and tool kits.
One of the most dangerous places here in Tulsa is a place called Academy
Sports. Sounds innocent, right?
Well, not so! They have an excellent collection of cast iron cooking goodies
as well as some really great buys on utensils and a really enticing bunch of
smokers.
My wife keeps the doors firmly locked when we pass the store. (LOL)
I am no longer permitted to visit such places as The Big Tool Box. I have
discovered that Southerland Lumber has some very good buys on power tools
and I can sneak by those isles while looking for such things as lumber and
carpet.
It is getting harder and harder to do these things as my fairly new bride is
getting smarter and smarter. (LOL)
She is catching on faster than I thought she would. (frowney face)
Take care all,
Cy the (tool poor) Ancient Okie...

One of the first things I noticed about this list, I want things others talk
about, so I have my wish list sitting close by and then I try and find ways
to justify the need for such animals. Then along comes a person and sends
links to places that people like me shouldn't visit and I have more to add
to my list.
Funny thing, I have a hard time going to any tool place in person and
walking away with just the item I went there to get. I believe I must be a
tooloholic, smile!
Thanks you guys for contributing to the delinquency of a innocent little
tool collector.
