Well, I spent all day yesterday pretty much assembling 24 boxes for CDs. We
have open-faced cabinets for storing CDs, but somehow got these totally lame
trays as inserts. The trays are flexible, so every time you would pick one
up, the CDs would either shift around or more generally fall out. So, I
decided to make boxes out of 1 x 8x and ¼ plywood.

I ripped the 1 x 8s down to five and 1/16th, and cut that into 12 inch
lengths. Then I cut the plywood into 12 x 6 inth pieces for the sides.
Then, I cut the remaining 2 and 15/16 1x8 pieces into 5 and 1/16 lenths
which fit between the sides, on the top of the box, to keep the CDs from
falling out and to serve as handles.

I don’t have a table saw, so all of the cutting was done with a circ saw out
in the 100 plus heat we had last weekend. Yes, there were some unfortunate
surprises when I got through cutting all the pieces, but all and all, things
turned out OK.

BTW, I use the telephone dial system for these kind of filing situations, so
there’l be three boxes for abc, def, ghi, jkl, mno, pqrs and wxyz.

Got a big one that I have been working on for the last year. I guess all the
snow we got here in Denver didn't help last winter.

The list has been totally dead for two days. I guess everybody is out
trying to finish up those summer projects before fall arrives.

Regards.
