When I first bought the house, the sewer had a backup. Called the city and
had them clean out their side, but the problem persisted. Had to call the
plumber and pay about $95 to have them clean the system. Now, 3 months
later, the backup is back. Both times, the sewer backs up into the shower.
Both toilets are clogged. The weird part is that the sinks are not clogged.
I don't want to have to call the plumber every 3 months to have them clean
the system, but if that's the best thing to do, I will. I want to know what
could be causing the clog in the first place and how to prevent it. I do
have trees in both the front and back yard. This includes a sago palm which
is practically against the front of the house. One other thing about this
clog. If you wait a while, the water in the shower goes away. If you wait
long enough, you can flush the toilet a few times before the water returns.
I'm thinking about getting a snake so I can atempt to clear the line. Any
thoughts or suggestions on this are appreciated.
