Lenny, I've been there and done that. Not necessarily that exact goof, but I've done plenty of things just like it.
I wasted 5 2X10X8 boards a couple of weeks ago. I cut the first one, a beautiful sloping rip cut along the length of the board, it was perfect. So perfect that I used it as a template for three more boards. After finishing the fourth board I realized that the three boards had to be longer than the first. TOAST! so I started again. However, I screwed up the offset for my circ saw and cut the next board too narrow. That's when I cleaned up everything and had a beer. Nothing like scrapping expensive lumber to make your day.
