Here in California, newer areas are often undergrounded but I'd bet 75 percent of local wiring is still on poles. Keeps the line crews busy when we get wind storms, but sure doesn't seem to make long term sense not to go ahead and move stuff underground. My brother was an electrician for over 30 years. Once while he was working on our local subway, (BART) somebody started up two 'portable' 30 KW generators while they were hooked up 180 out of phase. The way he tells the story, for some reason the connections couldn't be broken, so the offending guy just yelled for everybody to run. Apparrently the fireworks were quite spectacular. On another note, I get a giggle out of your ISP's name Dave, makes one wonder wha't's going on over there and what Sally thinks of your "SlaveLady" <GRIN> tom Fowle (Near San Francisco) Net-Tamer V 1.13 Beta - Registered To listen to the show archives go to link http://acbradio.org/handyman.html or ftp://ftp.acbradio.org/acbradio-archives/handyman/ The Pod Cast address for the Blind Handy Man Show is. http://www.acbradio.org/news/xml/podcast.php?pgm=saturday Visit The Blind Handy Man Files Page To Review Contributions From Various List Members At The Following address: http://www.jaws-users.com/handyman/ Visit the archives page at the following address http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ If you would like to join the Blind Computing list, then visit the following address for more information: http://jaws-users.com/mailman/listinfo/blind-computing_jaws-users.com For a complete list of email commands pertaining to the Blind Handy Man list just send a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yahoo!
