I may have missed the post if someone else put it out, but there is a tool made and sold for this purpose. The place selling you the post should be able to get one. It is about like the pipe etc described by Lee except the cap is thicker and such so it is heavier so it drives the post quicker. The pipe diameter is small enough to grasp with the hands so no handle is needed. Ron ----- Original Message ----- From: Lee A. Tom and all. using that pipe with a cap for driving posts is a great idea. I am not sure of the size , but whatever size the oil tank fill pipe folks used to have for getting a home fuel oil tank filled is a good size. Most of those old pipes are now replaced with PVC pipe. but a good three or four foot section of that old pipe we have used for putting in standard six and eight foot fence posts. the ones with all the holes and wings on the bottom which disappear as you drive the post down . there is no rock to run into around here as I think the clay soil runs to China and back.
