You are good Ray, real good. I'm thinking of a couple of the pumps listed and see what will compare locally. there is another book I just found out about called Grangers which carries hopefully somthing similar to these sludge pumps. as I stated part of our problem is that there is a lite silt that runs in and evern with good brands like Wagner pumps with solid steel construction , right down to solid steel impellers . these apparently are designed for just moving water. thanks again.
