You can buy the entire cover plate with the flip lever. We had to buy one
several years ago.

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] tub drain

> Hi,
> I don't know how well I will describe this, or if I'll get a response, but
> I'll try.
> Need help:
> It's about my tub drain, stopper control.
> I've been in the trouble door, and there are no external parts.
>
> mechanism fits into overflow down pipe.
> Seems as if actual drain lever is spring loaded (open)
> and a rod controlled weight drops down the tube and sits on that lever
> to
> close the drain.
> Now for the fun part.
> The action lever that keeps the weight off of the actual
> drain lever, is
> also spring loaded.
> This action lever is in a face plate that partially covers the overflow
> pipe mouth, and allows the drop of the weight and assembly down the
> overflow pipe.
> Looks like the spring and assembly for the tension of the action lever is
> corroded.
> Thus in the stressed position of "holding the weight up, off of the drain
> lever" there is no satisfactory response.
>
> *If my hardware store can't get one, what are these called?
> I see "Kotter" pins holding the rigid links of the push pull assembly
> together.
> Can I get just a internal action lever spring assembly?
> I hope someone has seen one of these. I don't know if my description would
> be enough for anyone who hasn't.
> Thanks guys.
