I have one that uses one AA batery and its made by Caretech or some such thing. The damned piece of metal that presses against the negative side of the battery came off and I've not been able to figure out how to connect it back to the case. It would be nice if some manufacturer would produce such a device that wasn't so expensive or if it can't be made at a totally reasonable price, it would at least not fall apart. This is my second talking tape measure and quite frankly I've been very disappointed in both units from both manufacturers.
