Todays weather was weird here in my part of New York. by 7 this morning we had freezing rain and light winds. by noon time the temps had rose above freezing and by 4 it , the temp had rose up over 25 degrees and that freezing rain had turned out to be like wals of rain with high winds. You guessed it we blew out another pump. So now I am wondering if it is worth it to spend over $400 for a heavy duty sump pump like the solid steel Wagners with a steel impeller. I used to use the cheaper $100 pumps. cannot think of the name Mighty mite or". ?? well anyway today when Mrs. Claus came home from work I added to our family Christmas request list. a sump pump is needed . I have a horse and a half left in the hole which is working and we need at least one back up pump in the hole. so that went over like a lead ballon. . my comment is maybe Walmart, Sears and target are overloaded with customers but I bet the plumbing shop could use a new customer. My advice for those who use a sump pump as we do on a regular basis is to always have a spare in the house-building ready to go. three of our pumps hafve 1 1/2 pvc pipe already set or they were with three feet of pipe screwed into the adapter. another thanks to this list as when I was sighted I never did any plastic plumbing . Together on this list we are a team. Take That Mr. Dan rossi . , he already found out what a sump pump can or cannot do in a storm. we all thought we were frozen up for the winter and along comes some weird warming and yes flooding. remember when asking Santa some requests can be covered as a family present as a sump pump will keep all of our butts dry.
