Well in many respects the year has been very short and also very long.
Lets see my divorce was final in January. I bought a house in Independence
Missouri in March. Opened up the attic and installed a pull down stairs
along withsome additional insulation where I was installing some flooring
boards. Started building a 10 by 18 shed in April. Started boxing up
stuff to move. Moved the 10th of June. Required two trips with a covered
pickup pulling biggest trailer u haul rents and one pickup trip later. One
gentlemen than helped unload remarked he had helped a lot of people move but
had not moved an anvil before. The shed had tar paper on the roof
and side
walls and a double three foot steel door. Got married on June 30th to a
wonderful woman that owns her own saws all and cordless drill along with
other tools. . Started unpacking. Got the Timberline shingles on the shed
roof. Moved a door three foot in my new office. Built many shelves in the
shed. Continued unpacking. Added a second door between the garage and shop
so I had a five foot opening instead of thirty inches. Installed a new 200
amp panel box and new meter can so I could take advantage of a Fema grant to
put the overhead utility line underground. With Missouris ice storms and a
backyard full of trees it seemed like a good idea.. Continued unpacking.
Started putting vinyl
soffet and facia on the shed. Still unpacking. Also putting up shelves in
the garage, shop and office. Added a row of drawers to a workbench I had
only built 30 inches high back in 72. Replaced the battery in my wifes 2002
Olds van. Required removing braces and fuse boxes to find the battery.
Finished the shed soffet started installing vinyl siding. still unpacking.
Installed the
black iron air line from the air compressor in the garage and into the shop.
No leaks.
Finished vinyl siding. Wife paints the shed doors. Rearrange shed to make
room to build another set of shelves in the shed. Continue to unpack. Rip
up and clean up some
old dineing room table leaves to make a small table to hold wifes computer
tower. Cover lawn swing and chairs with a tarp for the winter. Build nicer
set of bookshelves in shop. Do more unpacking. Wow.
Find Electric Code and upholstery books. Sorry guys, now I can back up my
answers. Convert eight foot pre light
Christmas tree to a five foot tree after wife says it will not work. My son
gives me a pair of the folding plastic saw horses. The old wooden ones take
a vacation out to the back yard until I can put a tarp over them. Maybe
next year things will slow down a little. Hopefully the house in
Kirksville, Missouri will sell. Only three boxes of books to unpack. Time
to insert a yellow page ad to get some furniture repair work. Time to
celebrate Christmas. And a Merry Christmas to one and all.
