Hi Folks,

The last few days I have noticed a thread on the list regarding inventions,
ideas, patents, ETC.

I work for a company who assists entrepreneurs with securing: business
startup, expansion, recapitalization and invention funding.

Here are a few general rules that our business development team share with
every client.

No matter how simple or mundane you think your idea, get a signed
confidentiality agreement before you talk about the idea with anyone.

Have a well written comprehensive business plan in place before you attempt
to secure funding or market your product, service or idea.

Make certain that any potential attorney, accountant, funder, manufacturer
or in some cases a specialty material supplier who will be directly involved
with your business signs both a confidentiality and non-competition
agreement before sharing any part of your business idea or your written
business plan.

Every year we hear horror stories about some hapless entrepreneur who either
trusted the wrong person or let some bit of crucial bit of information slip
and had their product or idea stolen.

Hope all of this makes sense and helps someone out.

Larry
