Clifford my man... You are absolutely correct. The best fix for vapor lock is: 1. A fuel pump located as far away as possible from a heat source.
2. The answer to immediate relief was to cool the fuel pump with water or let it rest. I am not sure, but I would think that a filter would let a vapor pass as easily as a liquid? Placing an electric fuel pump in the fuel tank, has eliminated vapor lock, at least the old fashioned type.
