Hello Carl, Long time since you have been on the list! You can by products to help remove rust, usually they are mile acids and need to be wiped or sprayed on for a short time before wiping off. They will actually create corrosion if left on too long. I bought some about a year ago to polish up the cast steel table of my saw. Generally a better way is to use a little bit of oil and some gentle abrasive like what you would call wire wool and gently rub the rust away. Nothing too coarse of course because you don't want to scratch the tools. Then I like to apply a thin coating of hard wax, the stuff Mom used to wax the hardwood floor with and when it dries, buff the tools to a nice slippery but protected shine. ----- Original Message ----- From: carl To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, March 01, 2008 2:27 PM Subject: [BlindHandyMan] removeing rust hi folks mye work shop rough has been leacking right over haïr i store mie Carvin and turning tools Can You advise any Tips and techneaques for removeing Rust?
