Lenny This is interesting and leads me to a question I have had. Are any of the cable boxes, DVR features etc blind friendly?

Sunday afternoon our cable box stopped working. You could not change channels or turn the unit off. I did the standard reset by pulling the plug. This did not help. Later in the day when my grandson wanted to watch TV it started working and when he left it again stopped working. On Monday when the service technicians came they said that they never saw one of the new style boxes act that way. After the replaced the box it still did not work. They noticed that if they held the remote very close it would work. Then they found that if they stood in a certain area of the room that it would work. This is the same area that my grandson sits to watch TV. Now we have a lot of remotes. one for the cable box, receiver, dvd player and vcr. Here something was holding one button down on one of the remotes and it was aimed at the cable box. This caused the single to be unidentifiable for the TV. We learned that if one of the devices stops working in addition to the batteries make sure that no other remote is sending out a signal. When my grandson placed a chair in the center of the room he was blocking the signal from the remote that had a button depressed.
