Hi Ran and thank you for responding! I am in Osseo Wisconsin. See, what happened is I just bought this gauge about a year and a quarter ago, probably November, maybe even December of That would be, 2 0 0 6? yeah, 6. It doesn't detect anymore how much oil we have and it has a junky float. The float is just a junky plastic ring which you punch onto a metal rod which protrudes up where the gauge cover is. Piece of junk. That is all they had. I know it is broke as we just got 240 gallons of oil. The rod was still way, I mean way, down. I pulled it up to full, replaced that float which actually isn't that, because it just sticks on the end of that rod. I tried with and without. Down went the rod, back to empty. If I remove the nut, I can't imagine there is any danger or pressure? I am familiar with pipes and plumbing etc. I just haven't ever taken that nut off and pulled a gauge. Thanks in advance. bill
