When I had decided to replace my 7.5 gallon toilet in the basement
with a newer one the other month, no date was set. There was no need
to plan too much since it was hardly if ever used anymore.
Well, it got put on a fast track list. My son heard water running
in the basement. He checked and hollared the toilet was running
water. I found this hard to believe since I had been in the basement
the night before.
So I went to see what was going on. To my bewilderment, the tank
had split only down the front of the tank, dead center. The inlet
valve stuck almost closed and was allowing some water to fill the tank
and run on the floor. Considering the amount of water all over it
hardly leaked any water other than what the tank held. I turned the
water off and put it on my list of things to do soner than later, my
fast track list.
It is a good thing it didn't fall to the side or it would have
broken my replacement toilet sitting neatly next to it.
