I was just reading the mail and my daughter called to tell me about a fire very close to her home. while talking to her Karen started yelling for me to quickly come downstairs. She turned the oven on and something that cooked over while making Easter Sunday dinner caught fire. I did not want to discharge the ABC fire extinguisher and new of two alternatives in the kitchen. Although baking soda is the best the salt shaker was the quickest to get. I had her dump the contents into her hand and toss on the flames, immediately the fire was knocked down. Although it is a self cleaning oven, I have some work cut out for me this evening.That powerful new shop vac will remove the salt and the rest will be for me to clean up.
