hi lenny
they make a dish washer cleanner you put in the silverware basket.
it is a bottle with some wax on the top, you put in there upside down
and the heat of the water melts the wax and lets the stuff out.
i am not sure if it is better than the vinigar but its worth a try.
it only costs about $3.
