Well it has been a while since I was on list. Just got a new house and it's now time to start sprucing it up. My first question involves installing a garage door opener. We've got a metal door with creases in it, I think they call that a sectional door? Anyway, what's usually involved in installing an electric opener? I think the door is about 9 or ten feet high, and I'm reasonably sure there's enough headroom at the top for the assembly. Does the mechanism just plug into a regular outlet or does it need to be wired right into a fuse box? My other question involved installing a pet door. The door it's being installed in is metal. My first thought was to get a reciprocating saw and cut through the door, install a set of hinges with rivets and use a simple sheet of plywood for the pet door itself. Would this work? I've got more stuff I need to know but we'll leave it there for the moment. Thanks and glad to be back.
